Dr. Vinod Kumar Paul, Member NITI, Aayog, Govt of India, and Dr. Rajesh S Gokhale, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India visited RGCB today and interacted with students, staff, and faculties. Dr. Paul while addressing the gathering mentioned that Kerala should give more importance to virology research since the state faces a higher risk of virus-related incidence compared to other parts of the country. In his address, Dr. Gokhale emphasized the urgent need for achieving further growth in the bio-manufacturing domain in the country by leveraging new technologies. “Innovate or be left behind if India fails to recognize the AI and machine learning needs,as he said. Professor Chandrabhas Narayana, Director said RGCB has envisaged comprehensive projects in the field of research and also for developing state-of-the-art infrastructure at the institution. On the occasion, Dr. TR Santhosh Kumar, Senior Scientist, RGCB, made a detailed presentation on the cancer research programs at RGCB. Dr Devasena Anantharaman, Scientist welcomed the gathering.
