Deputy General Manager (Bioinformatics Operations)

I started my career in bioinformatics as a PhD student at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting & Diagnostics, Hyderabad, India. During my doctoral work, I developed a web server ApicoAlign (Ali et. al. BMC Genomics, 2011) and improved the annotation of apicomplexan genomes (Ali et. al. BMC Genomics, 2012). For my postdoctoral work, I moved to Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany and published a co-author paper (Novikova et. al, Nature Genetics, 2016) using next generation sequencing data. I joined RGCB as Senior Manager (Bioinformatics Operations) in which I continue research in bioinformatics and enjoy teaching & training students in programming/bioinformatics.

K C Sivakumar, PhD

Senior Manager

I am a computational biologist with extensive experience performing biological data analysis and collaborating with scientists on computational research projects. It essentially entails constructing data analysis pipelines and performing complex data analysis to handle biological science problems. My research interests are designing and implementing computational methods for data analysis and integration in next-generation sequencing, in-silico drug design, molecular dynamics simulations, metagenomics, and big data. With an ever-increasing need for continuous input from bioinformatics, I also educate and train researchers and provide data-enriched services. I have co-authored many research articles in peer-reviewed international journals.
