Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Project Fellow in a DBT - Wellcome Trust funded research project entitled "Human Papillomavirus (HPV)-rlated oropharyngeal cancer burden and the natural history of oral HPV infections: an Indian perspective" in the Human Papillomavirus Research Program (Cancer Research) at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology , Thiruvananthapuram. Our group investigates the contribution of HPV infections in several cancers with the aim of understanding cancer etiology contributing to primary and secondary prevention of cancer. In addition, the group also has ongoing research programs in understanding the molecular basis of oral cancer progression, genetics and meta-genomics of HPV-associated cervical and oral cancer and identifying end-points of long-term immune protection conferred by HPV vaccines.

Essential Qualification

The candidate must have good academic record with first class Master' Degree in any area of Life Sciences or Biotechnology from a recognized University

Desirable Qualification

UGC/CSIR – NET / GATE etc. eligibility.

Age

Below 28 years as on 14th March, 2019.

Emoluments:

25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified at NET/GATE (with valid certificate). Candidates who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month

Duration

3 years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier.

Selection Process

Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before 14th March, 2019. Application can also otherwise be sent by post such envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project. Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed.

No TA/DA/Other emoluments will be given for appearing in the written test/interview.
