| RGCB is in an exciting phase of growth. Along with this we wish to develop a strong academic program including a well structured course work for PhD students, specialized training programs, workshops, seminars & symposia. In future RGCB also plans specialized academic programs in Disease Biology, Molecular Diagnostics and Nano-biotechnology. The RGCB Academic Council assists and advises the institute on development and monitoring of these academic programs.
The Council normally meets twice a year, in January and July. The Council will have 8 members, five external and three internal. The overall mandates of the RGCB Academic Council will include:
- Develop and review academic programs of the institute.
- Selection of PhD students.
- Develop, monitor and review PhD course work.
- Identify areas for developing training programs
- Identify topics for conduct of national and international conferences/seminars/symposia, suggest panels of participants and suggest tentative programs and advise the Director.
- Review proposals for inter institutional and collaborations and advise the Director.
- Review proposals and applications for academic and adjunct faculty positions, Emeritus scientists, Visiting Professorships, etc and advise the Director.
